Biography
HI! I'm Lucy, a current Electrical and Computer Engineering student at CMU. My interests include computer architecture, firmware systems, machine learning infrastructure, and high-performance systems that blend hardware and software.
Throughout my time in school, I’ve explored a broad range of topics (aka I was really indecisive for a time since many things were interesting), from circuit design to generative AI, which has allowed me to understand how computers work at every single layer of the stack. With all that said, UT Austin was where the foundation of my technical knowledge was built, and I am grateful for the bottom-up approach to ECE and the long debugging sessions that taught me resilience. I also served as president for HKN, which taught me many valuable lessons in effective teamwork and communication.
Previously, I spent two amazing summers at Microsoft, where I worked on server management firmware and hardware monitoring. Before that, I worked internships in the semiconductor industry, working on mass testing for automotive transceivers and embedded projects. As my time at CMU flies by, I have enjoyed the wealth of deep technical courses that pulled back the curtain on systems I once saw as black boxes: like quantum computing or wireless networks or many nitty gritty concepts in AI.
